Dhaka, May 30 -- The German embassy in Dhaka today said that Bangladesh and Germany stand for peace together while observing the International Day of UN Peacekeepers.
"Together, Germany and Bangladesh stand for peace," the embassy said in a brief statement.
It said Bangladesh remains a top contributor with more than 7,200 peacekeepers while Germany pledged 82 million Euros for US peacekeepers at the 2025 Ministerial held in Berlin.
"Germany's support for the UN and its peacekeeping missions remains unwavering. We are committed to standing up for international peace and security," said German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul at the 2025 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial, held in Berlin on 13-14 May, according to the embassy.
