Dhaka, Dec. 4 -- To rescue agricultural land from waterlogging and restore water flow in the canals, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) has started canal digging activities in Barishal region.
As part of that development project Khairul Alam Sumon, Deputy Commissioner Barishal, on Tuesday afternoon inaugurated the excavation of a 2-kilometer canal in Mirabari area of Char Kaua union of Barishal Sadar upazila.
At that time, he said through this canal digging, not only will agricultural land be rescued from waterlogging in the area, but farmers will also be benefitted by producing agricultural products.
