Dhaka, April 8 -- THE deposed Awami League government left a sordid history. Its decade-and-a-half-long reign (2009-August 5, 2024) witnessed rampant corruption, violent and ruthless suppression, and repression of opponents. During this time, a mutiny among the paramilitary force, BDR, took place. The cause and the sources of the mutiny that resulted in the murder of 57 army officers remain a mystery to this day.
