Dhaka, Sept. 22 -- Assistant teachers working in government primary schools across Bangladesh will now qualify for higher pay grades after completing 10 and 16 years in service.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a directive to this effect through a letter signed by Joint Secretary of School Branch-2, Rebeka Sultana.

The letter instructed the Directorate of Primary and Mass Education to begin the processof granting the pay scale benefits to eligible assistant teachers.

The directive follows the Finance Division's opinion on the matter, which referred to paragraph 7 of the National Pay Scale 2015.
