Dhaka, July 21 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has attached nearly 4,880 decimals of land and properties worth around Tk400 crore belonging to former textiles and jute minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, following a court order.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the CID stated that it seized 4,879.92 decimals of land recorded under 69 deeds with a deed value of Tk16 crore along with immovable assets, including Gazi Tire Company and related infrastructure.
CID alleges that Gazi, a former MP from Narayanganj-1 (Rupganj), accumulated the wealth through forced land grabs, commission-taking, forgery, hundi trading, and other organized crimes, including manipulation of invoices.
