Dhaka, Nov. 8 -- The Asian Archery Championships will begin today. The gala extravaganza will be held at the National Stadium in the capital's Paltan and at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in the capital's Banani. A total of 209 archers from 30 countries will take part in the archery competition.
Of them, 92 female archers will compete in the mega tournament. 54 female archers will compete in the recurve event, while 38 female archers will fight in the compound event. A number of 80 officials and 17 guests also participate in the archery competition. The gala competition will come to an end on November 14.
Earlier, the archers took part in their practice sessions at the National Stadium and Tongi Archery Complex in Gazipur.
