Dhaka, Sept. 21 -- The Bangladesh Army has recovered firearms and ammunition following a shootout with members of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) in the Panchari Upazila of Khagrachhari.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the incident took place on Saturday morning.
"The Army has been conducting a long-term operation against armed groups in the hill areas, reports bdnews24.com.
"As part of this, a patrol team was searching the house of a suspected active member of the UPDF (main) team when they came under fire from about 15 to 20 UPDF members stationed in the village."
