Dhaka, April 27 -- Vice Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Prof Ali Riaz, on Sunday emphasized the urgent need for democratic forces to stay united in tackling the deep-rooted crises that Bangladesh has long been grappling with.

"Efforts are being made to address these longstanding crises, but implementing reform commission reports alone is not sufficient," Prof Riaz said during a dialogue with Ganasamhati Andolon held in the morning. "We must establish a democratic state structure and cultivate a true democratic practice. For this, unity among democratic forces is crucial."
