Dhaka, Sept. 1 -- Leaders and activists of the Awami League, whose political activities are currently banned, held a sudden rally in the capital's Dhanmondi 27 area in Dhaka. A crude bomb (cocktail) explosion was also reported during the rally.

According to eyewitnesses, the rally took place around 3:30 PM in the Dhanmondi 27 area. A notable number of party leaders and activists were present. However, the procession ended quickly.

Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kayshaynu Marma said, "We were informed that Awami League members held a rally around 3:30 PM in Dhanmondi 27.
