Dhaka, Oct. 11 -- Police have arrested Towajidul Haque Tuhin (45), former Chairman of Lalabazar Union Parishad and Organizing Secretary of South Surma Upazila Awami League, in a case filed in connection with the attack on the anti-discrimination student movement.

He was arrested from his house in Karsna village of South Surma Upazila of Sylhet at around 6:30 am on Thursday.

This information was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Surma Police Station Md. Mijanu Rahman.

He said that Towajidul Haque Tuhin was removed from the post of UP Chairman last month. In his absence, an administrator has already been appointed in Lalabazar Union.
