Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- A court here today sent to jail Awami League (AL)organising secretary and former lawmaker from the Shariatpur-1 constituencyBM Mozammel Haque in a case lodged over the killing of garment worker Rubelduring the July-August Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order as police produced Mozammel before the court and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the end of probe in the case. Police arrested the former lawmaker from the capital's Niketon area onOctober 5.
