Dhaka, June 28 -- Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan on Friday stressed the need to enhance paper production in the country instead of depending on imports to meet the local demand.
"There is a huge demand for paper in the country. Instead of importing paper from abroad, we must boost local production," he said, reports UNB.
The Industries Adviser made the remarks while addressing a views-exchange meeting with officials of Karnaphuli Paper Mills Limited (KPML) at Kaptai upazila in Rangamati, according to a PID handout.
He said development activities for the paper mills will start soon. "Production capacity should be increased using local raw materials instead of relying on foreign chemicals," he said.
