Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to initiate legal proceedings against Md Nayeemul Islam Khan, the former press secretary to the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and his wife, Nasima Khan Monty, for failing to submit their statements of assets and liabilities within the legally mandated period.

Confirming the development on Monday, ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam said that the cases against the couple would be filed soon.

According to the ACC, Nayeemul Islam Khan violated provisions of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, by not submitting his wealth statement within the specified deadline. His wife, Nasima Khan Monty, has been accused of the same offence under the same law. The anti-graft b...
