Dhaka, Sept. 29 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday lodged a case against former Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, his wife Rukmila Zaman, and six others, accusing them of extorting Tk42 crore from a businessman through intimidation.
ACC Deputy Assistant Director Md Rubel Hossain filed the case at the ACC headquarters, according to a press release. The additional accused are: former UCBL director Syed Kamruzzaman; Armit's AGM and Imperial Trading's owner Md Abdul Aziz; Classic Trading owner Mohammad Jahangir Alam; Armit employee and Model Trading proprietor Mohammad Mishabahul Alam; Crescent Traders owner Syed Nurul Islam; and Radius Trading owner Md Farid Uddin.As per the case statement, the defendants colluded to misuse ...
