Dhaka, July 30 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday filed a graft case against former Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, accusing the Awami League leader of amassing illegal wealth and engaging in suspicious financial transactions through multiple bank accounts.
The case was approved at an ACC commission meeting earlier in the day and later filed, confirmed ACC Deputy Director of Public Relations Md Atkarul Islam.
According to ACC findings, Noor allegedly acquired wealth amounting to Tk 5.37 crore beyond his known sources of income. While he declared Tk 23.64 crore in his tax returns, his total acquired wealth was found to be Tk29.01 crore, raising red flags.
