Dhaka, April 9 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday filed two separate cases against former Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and his wife, Nadira Mahmud, on charges of amassing illegal wealth and suspicious financial transactions worth over Tk 197 crore in total.At a press briefing held at the ACC headquarters in Dhaka, Director General Md. Akhtar Hossain confirmed the charges.

According to the ACC, Nurul Majid, a former Member of Parliament from Narsingdi-4, is accused of possessing assets worth Tk 7.94 crore that do not match his known sources of income. Investigators also uncovered suspicious transactions amounting to Tk 102.02 crore across 13 bank accounts registered in his name.
