Dhaka, March 25 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Chief Whip and ex-Member of Parliament (MP) from Madaripur-1, Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, and his wife, Zinat Parveen Chowdhury, over allegations of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income and engaging in suspicious financial transactions.
ACC Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhtar Hossain confirmed the filing of the case on Monday.
According to the ACC's report, Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury allegedly abused his position as a public servant to illegally acquire assets worth Tk 57.49 crore, which does not correspond with his declared earnings.
