Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against former Social Welfare Minister and ousted Awami League (AL) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Chandpur-3 constituency, Dipu Moni, and her husband, Tawfique Nawaz.
The ACC stated that they were sued on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 7.88 crore and engaging in suspicious transactions amounting to Tk 31.09 crore.
They have been charged under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhtar Hossain told reporters in the capital on Monday (10 February).
Dipu Moni is accused of abusing her power to acquire assets worth Tk 5.92 crore beyond her known sources of income. ...
