Dhaka, June 24 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a letter to the Election Commission (EC), requesting information about officials involved in polling centres that reported 100 percent voter turnout during the 2018 national election.
ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain confirmed the development while speaking to reporters at the ACC headquarters in Dhaka on Monday. He said the commission is investigating individuals allegedly involved in vote rigging and abuse of power during the 2014, 2018, and 2024 national elections. Akhtar noted that the ACC launched the inquiry in January this year and formed a five-member investigation committee. As part of the ongoing probe, the committee sent the letter to the EC.
