Dhaka, April 7 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against former foreign minister and Chittagong-7 (Rangunia) lawmaker Dr Mohammed Hasan Mahmud and his wife, Nurun Fatema, over allegations of amassing hundreds of crores of Taka in illegal wealth and laundering the money through dozens of suspicious bank accounts.
ACC Deputy Director (Media) Akhtarul Islam confirmed that the case was filed with the commission's District Office-1 on Sunday. On the other hand, ACC has launched an inquiry into allegations of corruption against cricketer and former Awami League MP Shakib Al Hasan.
