Dhaka, Feb. 4 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed three separate corruption cases against former ousted Awami League Member of Parliament from Lalmonirhat-2 and social welfare minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, along with his wife and son.
According to the ACC, the cases pertain to allegations of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk8.5 crore and engaging in suspicious transactions totaling Tk134 crore. ACC Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhtar Hossain confirmed the development at the commission's headquarters on Monday.
In the first case, former minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed is accused of amassing illegal assets worth Tk5.31 crore and conducting suspicious transactions amounting to Tk62.08 crore through 31 bank accounts in his name.
