Dhaka, Nov. 28 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has opened a preliminary investigation into allegations of abuse of power, irregularities, corruption, and bribery against Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz.

The probe began on Thursday, confirmed through a letter signed by ACC Director Ishita Rony authorising the initial inquiry. A senior ACC official, requesting anonymity, also verified the development to the media.

ACC sources said the commission initiated the investigation after receiving multiple complaints. The director general of Investigation-1 has been instructed to take necessary steps and oversee the probe.
