Dhaka, June 29 -- Prominent Bangladeshi business leader and politician Abdul Awal Mintoo has been named one of the '2025 Top Agri-Food Pioneers (TAP)' by the World Food Prize Foundation.

This distinguished recognition highlights his remarkable and enduring contributions to agriculture and food security-both within Bangladesh and on the global stage.

As the Chairman of Lal Teer Seed Limited, Mintoo has played a pivotal role in transforming Bangladesh's agricultural sector. His company supplies approximately 30 percent of the country's total seed requirement-a vital contribution given the long-standing challenges of inadequate seed production and distribution that hindered crop yields until the 1990s.
