Dhaka, Aug. 14 -- Police have filed a charge sheet recently naming Jagannath University (JnU) law student Raihan Siddiqui Amman as the prime accused in connection with the suicide of his classmate, Fairuz Sadaf Abantika. The university's assistant proctor, Din Islam, who was initially accused, has been acquitted after investigators found no evidence linking him to the case.
On 15 March last year, Abantika posted a Facebook message stating that Amman would be responsible if she took her own life. The following day, her mother lodged a case against Amman and Din Islam, leading to their arrests. That evening, Abantika was found hanging at her home.
