Dhaka, May 15 -- Eight officials and employees working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) have been temporarily suspended due to an ongoing agitation. The suspension was officially confirmed in a memorandum issued on Tuesday, May 13, under Memorandum No. 489, signed by Dr. Zayedul Hasan, Project Director and Managing Director of the Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh Limited (NPCBL).
The memorandum stated that, for safety reasons, the eight suspended individuals are required to cease entering the construction area of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant immediately.
