Dhaka, May 9 -- A critically endangered ( Rare Species) of Batagur Baska turtle hatched 65 babies at the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Center in the Sundarbans.

The babies were taken out on Monday (May 5) morning and placed in the center's turtle breeding center's conservation pan.

Azad Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Karamjal Breeding Center, said that a turtle laid 82 eggs on February 15.

Later, they were collected and placed in the sand. After intensive care, 65 babies hatched from the Batagur Baska turtle eggs kept on the sand beach of the center's pond on Monday morning.

These babies will be kept in the pan and raised before being released into the big pond.
