Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Some six rural road bridges built on Fanai River flowing through Dakshinanchal of Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar have broken after re-excavation of the river. Around 40 thousand people from 4 unions have been risking their lives for almost one and a half years. LGED authorities say that these bridges will be given by the Water Development Board for the unplanned re-dredging of the river.

Will give Pubo authorities say that the authorities have built the bridge unplanned without taking into account the measurement of the river.

It has been found that about Tk 30 lakh had been spent on the Fanai river in the 1997-98 financial year under the initiative of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).
