Dhaka, March 5 -- The Ministry of Education has cancelled the previous order regarding the 5 per cent quota for the children of those injured or martyred during the July-August uprising in the admission process to government schools.

However, it has been instructed that for the children of those injured or martyred in the July Uprising, one seat per class should be reserved in addition to the designated lottery seats for government school admissions.

The Ministry issued a new order, canceling the previous one on Monday (March 3). The order was signed by the Deputy Secretary (Secondary-1) of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Rahima Akter.The new order states that many students and citizens were injured or martyred during the July-August 2024 ...
