Dhaka, Sept. 15 -- Mustafa Kamal Nannu, Tangail
A historic 10-kilometer road in Delduar upazila of Tangail remains untouched by development, even after five decades of independence. Starting from Lauhati Football Field and stretching through Char Lauhati and Momin Nagar to Pathrail, this road is nearly 100 years old. It connects the unions of Lauhati, Fazilhati, Nallapara, Elasin Atia, and Pathrail-serving nearly one lakh people daily.
Schoolchildren, patients, farmers, and workers all depend on this road. During the monsoon, it becomes a death trap. With thick mud and stagnant water, walking is difficult, and vehicle movement is nearly impossible.
