At least 50 people were injured in a violent clash between two rival factions of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organisations on Tuesday noon in Abdullahpur, located in the remote Austagram haor upazila of Kishoreganj.
The clash, reportedly triggered by a long-standing conflict over political supremacy and control of extortion rackets and waterbodies, involved supporters of Union BNP President Kamal Pasha and District Volunteer Party Joint Convener Farhad Ahmed.
