Dhaka, Aug. 5 -- The upstream water flow from Aladipur area of Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district has caused severe waterlogging in Tentulia union of Tala upazila of Satkhira. This has left about 5,000 people stranded in Shirashuni village and surrounding areas. There has been a shortage of fresh water, water-borne diseases and health risks have increased. Hundreds of families have become unemployed.
Recently , it was seen that the upstream water from Keshabpur area is flowing and entering Shirashuni village of Tentulia union of Tala. Most of the houses in the village are submerged. Roads, agricultural lands, educational institutions are all under water.
