Dhaka, July 21 -- A total of 5,206 candidates have cleared the multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam under the special 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), which is aimed at recruiting doctors.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the results on Sunday night. Among the successful candidates, 4,695 qualified for the position of assistant surgeon and 511 for assistant dental surgeon. They are now eligible to appear for the 100-mark viva voce.
The PSC noted that 3,000 candidates will ultimately be selected to join government service - 2,700 as assistant surgeons and 300 as assistant dental surgeons - following the viva round.
