Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- The Election Commission (EC) has finalised a total of 42,761 polling centers across the country for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, according to Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed of the EC Secretariat.

Speaking to reporters at his office in the Election Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka, on Monday, Akhtar Ahmed said, "A total of 42,761 polling centers have been designated nationwide.These centers will contain 244,649 polling booths in total - 115,137 for male voters and 129,602 for female voters."

The EC Senior Secretary also mentioned that the registration process for new political parties and domestic election observation organizations is expected to be completed within this week.
