Dhaka, March 27 -- Bangladesh Bank has decided to keep four state-owned banks open on Friday despite the start of a nine-day Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
In a circular signed by Additional Director Md Abdul Mannan, the central bank informed the managing directors and chief executives of Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank and Rupali Bank about this decision, reads a circular issued on Thursday.
It stated that these banks would remain open to facilitate the withdrawal of salaries and allowances for MPO-listed teachers and employees under the Secondary and Higher Education Division ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The banks will operate from 10am to 3pm, with transactions permitted between 10am and 12pm.
