Dhaka, June 30 -- One person died of dengue in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday morning, bringing this year's total death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 42, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Within the same period, 383 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

Of these new cases, 136 were reported in Barishal division, 55 in Chattogram, 48 in Dhaka (outside the city corporation areas), 41 in Khulna, 10 in Mymensingh, and 33 in Rajshahi.
