Dhaka, March 28 -- A powerful earthquake that originated in Myanmar has also struck Thailand, causing the collapse of a 30-story under-construction building in Bangkok.
At least 43 construction workers are missing following the disaster, reports AFP.
The main earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.7, was followed by a 6.4-magnitude aftershock on Friday afternoon (March 28, local time), which led to the collapse of the high-rise structure.
Millions of people have been evacuated from homes and workplaces. Bangkok residents have been urged to stay outdoors to avoid further casualties in case of aftershocks.
