Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- The court has ordered the freezing of 16 bank accounts of former health and family welfare minister Zahid Maleque and 12 bank accounts of his son, Rahar Maleque.

The order was issued on Thursday (February 6) by Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib of the Dhaka Metropolitan Court in response to a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

During the hearing, the investigating officer of the case, ACC Deputy Director Md. Fazlul Haque, submitted two separate petitions requesting the freezing of the bank accounts. The court granted the request after the hearing.

The petitions stated that there had been significant financial transactions in the accounts under the names of the accused.
