Dhaka, June 17 -- A total of 234 new dengue cases were reported across Bangladesh in the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, bringing the total number of infections this year to 6,222, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the newly infected patients, 43 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka city, while the remaining 191 cases were reported from outside the capital.
Currently, 703 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country. No new deaths were recorded during this period, keeping the official death toll at 30 for the year.
