Dhaka, March 5 -- Two units of the Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant in Dinajpur have resumed electricity generation, supplying 240-250 megawatts per day to the national grid.
The plant, with a total capacity of 525 megawatts across three units, had been shut down due to mechanical issues.
While two units are now operational, the third unit has remained out of service for more than four years.
According to official sources, the 275-megawatt third unit restarted production on 28 February, while the 125-megawatt first unit became operational again on 22 February.
Together, these units are now contributing an average of 250 megawatts daily to the national grid.
