Bangladesh, Jan. 31 -- Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, 17 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in Narayanganj to maintain law and order. The armed force, primarily tasked with border security, has set up camps in all five upazilas of the district.

The information was shared on Friday (30 January) at a press conference held at the permanent BGB camp in Jalkuri by Lieutenant Colonel Mirza Mohammad Arafat, Commanding Officer of the 62 BGB Narayanganj Battalion.

Lieutenant Colonel Arafat said that, based on risk assessments of polling centers, BGB personnel will operate as both mobile and static forces. Depending on the upazila, between two and five platoons will be deployed.
