Dhaka, April 19 -- Malaysian authorities have detained 165 Bangladeshis among 506 undocumented migrants during a raid in Kuala Lumpur.

The Immigration Department carried out the operation in Medan Imbi on Thursday night, according to the New Straits Times.

The arrests were made under suspected violations of the Immigration Act 1959/63.Of the total detainees, 448 were men- primarily from Bangladesh (165) and Nepal (124), while 58 women were held, including 40 Indonesians and 18 Nepalis.

The operation covered six residential blocks across four floors around Jalan Barat, Jalan Melati and Jalan Khoo Teik Ee.
