Dhaka, April 18 -- Businessmen observed a half-day strike in Rangpur to protest the Israeli aggression and genocide in Gaza, Palestine. All markets and shops of 156 business organisations in the city were closed from 6 am to 1 pm on Wednesday.

Protest rallies were held in front of the city's supermarket, an effigy of occupying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was burned, and a prayer mahfil was held in memory of Palestinian martyrs.

Earlier, employees and businessmen closed small and big shopping malls, shopping malls and business establishments in the city since morning and gathered in front of the supermarket with a protest procession.

They participated in the protest rally there in solidarity with the half-day strike.
