Dhaka, April 30 -- Fourteen people have died, and several others have sustained burns after a massive fire broke out at a hotel in Kolkata's Burrabazar on Tuesday night. The blaze started around 8:30 PM at Hotel Rituraj, located in the Mechua fruit market area of Burrabazar. One hotel employee died after jumping from the roof while attempting to escape the fire.

Once the fire was contained, firefighters and disaster response teams entered the building for a search operation. During the operation, 13 additional charred bodies were found in various rooms of the hotel.
