Dhaka, May 7 -- The interim government has approved a 10-day public holiday to mark the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, one of the most significant festivals for Muslims.
The decision was finalised during a meeting of the Advisory Council held at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the development through an official statement on his verified Facebook page.
In order to manage the increased workload resulting from the extended holiday period, government offices will remain open on Saturdays, 17 and 24 May, according to the press secretary.
