Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed the confidence that party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman is destined to become the future prime minister of Bangladesh. Speaking at a programme on Saturday, Fakhrul said Tarique Rahman possesses the leadership qualities, political vision, and dedication needed to guide the nation toward prosperity.
He accused the current government of systematically undermining democracy and suppressing opposition voices, saying, "The country needs a leader who can unite the people and restore democratic governance and that leader is Tarique Rahman."
