Dhaka, May 3 -- The interim government considered that the next seven months will be critical for Bangladesh's economic future, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on Thursday.
Talking to the media, the press secretary said the interim government, under the leadership of Dr. Yunus, has announced an ambitious initiative to increase Chittagong Port's capacity six fold-to 7.86 million TEUs.
"This expansion plan reflects the government's awareness of the stakes," Alam said in a statement shared on his verified Facebook page.
He underscored that such a transformation would not be feasible without the involvement of leading global port operators.
