Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- The National Citizen Party (NCP) demonstrated "poor judgment" in deciding not to attend the signing of the July National Charter, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Friday.
"During our talks with them [NCP] and in the consensus commission meetings, they had been positive on almost all matters.
Whatever differences existed could have been discussed further. We could have sat again and resolved them.
I think it was unwise of them not to sign; otherwise, they would have joined us today," Fakhrul told BBC Bangla after the signing ceremony at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Fakhrul described NCP's absence as a "misunderstanding" rather than a sign of division.
