Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- The Navy and Air Force will be deployed alongside other security forces during the upcoming national elections, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said yesterday.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Sylhet divisional administration officials and law enforcement agencies, he said Ansar's presence at polling stations will be strengthened, while the army will remain on mobile duty. The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) will also support election security.

On police capacity, the adviser noted that 4,000 officers have recently completed training, another batch is currently undergoing training, and a new group will begin at Rajarbagh Police Lines on 7 September.
