Dhaka, June 30 -- Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana on Sunday said the significance of investigative journalism in establishing justice and rule of law is immense.
"Investigative journalism stands for the truth and ensures transparency. It also plays an important role in increasing public confidence in the judicial system," she said while addressing as chief guest a workshop for law reporters at National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO), reports BSS.
Organized jointly by Supreme Court Administration and UNDP with the assistance from the Swedish Embassy in Dhaka, the workshop titled "Strengthening Investigative Journalism for Law Reporters" was presided over by NIMCO Director General Muhammad Hiruzzaman.
