Dhaka, June 12 -- Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin today said that no government in the past except the incumbent interim government had taken timely steps to protect the rawhides sector of the country."We've distributed posters and leaflets to create awareness on the development of the rawhides and leather sector. We've also imparted training to some 86,000 butchers (Kosai)," he said.The Commerce Adviser said this while visiting a rawhide Arat at Arafatnagar in the district this afternoon.He said that the government had earlier fixed the price of salted rawhides and those who would sell the salted rawhides following due method would get better price.
